My guide, Sidi Shaykh Muhammad, is the father who carries
the deep secret of the heart of his students. If anyone in this world
catches a glimpse of this secret, his material world is destroyed and
he opens to receive the message planted in his heart. When Allah
sent His guide to be in this country to connect with all his students
everywhere, He sent the ocean that contains everything the people
need. I am like the fish who swims anywhere in this ocean and like
a drop that disappears in its vastness. Through all the jamal and the
jalal of the ocean, we can return through the deep tawba to the love
of our father and follow him in everything.

I am publishing these letters because I want everyone to see and to really know a part of the inside
meaning of the story of the life of the beloved of Allah, the real picture of the perfection through every
station of the jamal and the jalal to completion. These letters may appear to be from my stories, from my
past, but really they are a story from the stories of any student who places his foot upon the doorsill of his
beloved guide, to make the connection to the beloved prophets, to live the life of his beloved God until his
soul travels completely from this world of shadows and images.
This book is but one drop of his reality. If all the beloveds contributed to this book there would not be enough paper in America on which to print it. Let us write this book together in the spirit and give its body, heart, and soul as a gift to our beloved guide for all he gives to us. If you are yearning for him, it is only because he is loving and yearning for you to follow him, but in the reality, and as he says, “Know me through my children.”
All the words in these letters were spoken by the guide in English, from his spirit to his student, and
written down by another student from 1977 until his first visit to the United States in 1994. This is how
the guide loves all his students, from before until now, and when you connect to his spirit, either in the
presence or from far away, this connection in the spirit is the opening of the doors to follow the way. He
is like the beloved before him who said, “There is nothing inside my coat, but Allah.” This is how the
guide loves all his students, and everyone has this station with the guide.l.
